Power
“great ability to do or act”
“Power” is one of those trigger words that can have both positive and negative energies associated with it. For today’s MotD, we’re focusing on individual, personal power…the power that is within us that drives us forward to act and do that which we’re feeling inspired and motivated to do…it’s usually associated with our solar plexus and the color yellow.
Too often we get wrapped up in victimhood…that we focus on “things” that are happening to us that put us into a state of victimhood. For instance, when we complain about something, we’re in victim mode. When we’re feeling like the whole world is against us, we’re in victim mode. When we’re feeling sorry for ourselves, we’re in victim mode.
All that being said, yes, I know that people all over the world, including ourselves, are victims of mother nature, crimes, accidents, and so on. At some point we’re all victims of something, sometimes multiple times.
In and of itself, being in victim mode is neutral…it only becomes a negative thing when we stay stuck in victim mode and fail to recognize that stuck-ness. We’re encouraged instead to focus on our inner power source, to empower ourselves into action…into whatever (safe, legal) action that can pull us out or victim mode and into empowerment mode.
I find this mantra to be quite helpful in pulling me out of victim mode: “I choose power”. From that place of empowerment, our perspective changes, and we can then begin our journey into power-based action.
How about you? Is power a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
