Ethics

“a system of accepted beliefs that set the standard for behavior”

The challenge with ethics is that some people feel they are either above the system or they take on the juvenile mindset of not wanting to be told what to do. My understanding about ethics is that systems are put in place for a reason by hopefully honorable people to create an environment of peace and harmony for the greater good of all.

When those systems become outdated, then new systems need to be created, again by hopefully honorable people, to help create and maintain a community of peace and harmony.

So how do we deal with those who chose to buck the system? Good question. I wish I had the answer. Maybe if people understood the why of these systems, it would be easier for them to embrace them.

All I know is that if we as a society truly want a world of peace and harmony, then operating with some form of ethics, seems to be the best way to go.

As a means to that end, I make all of my mandalas available for people to color. Why should I have all the fun?
