24-258 Spontaneity

MotD 24-258 Spontaneity — After. textured abstract background of muted magenta and indigo blue. on top in light cyan ink is a four “petal” mandala. each petal has a spiral in it. in between these petals are another row of four petals with three spirals in each and 8 lotus-like petals around the outside. it has a modern feel to it.

Spontaneity

“the quality of being natural rather than planned in advance”

98% of doing the mandalas of the day is spontaneous. The only thing I prepare is the watercolor paper (paint them and cut them into 4” squares) and late last year I researched over 370 “value” words and put them and their definition into a spreadsheet.

Everything else is spontaneous. Each day I use a random number generator to pick a number between 1 and 377, which correlates to the rows in my spreadsheet. Then I randomly choose a paper, write the word and definition on the back, and start drawing as the spirit moves me. Afterwards I edit the before and after photos and write the blog post…as I’m doing right now.

What I love about doing it this way is that I get to make use of my intuition as well as connecting with the energy of mandala that is wanting to come into form today.

As it turns out, today’s “Situation Saturday” card pull talks about embracing the mystery of whatever “situation” we’re in today and let go of the outcome.

Essentially, we’re encouraged to go with the flow…and enjoy the ride.

How about you? Is spontaneity a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
