MotD 24-265 Service — After. soft blended background with colors of light pink, lilac, and white. on top, green metallic ink was used to outline the heart shape found in the background. mint green was used to draw the flower-petal mandala that’s partially behind the heart with light green centers in the petals. outside the mandala in light green are the outlines of 9 petals with a darker green shadow line on the left side of each petal. The darker green also outline the mint colored circle and the petals inside the circle.

Service

“the action of helping or doing something for someone else”

It’s become my understanding that our main purpose for being here on Earth is to discover what it is we love to do and/or what it is that we do well … and then, to help others by doing whatever that is.

This could be something we’re paid to do or something we volunteer to do. It can be something as simple as holding a door open for someone, to something huge like donating a kidney. If it makes someone’s life better because of it…it helps.

Our challenge becomes unveiling how best to be of service to others…while at the same time being of service to ourselves. Whatever it is, it is meant to be a win-win situation…it’s not meant to be something we have to sacrifice our soul or well-being in order to do.

For me, it’s creating and designing mandalas as well as doing readings for people (with or without my mandala oracle decks). While I know what I do helps others to varying degree, I also know that it helps me in that it lifts my spirits to know that I made a positive difference in someone’s life…even if it’s just for a moment.

Ultimately, it’s about how we can make this world a better place in some small (or bigger) way by helping someone else.
