Cheerfulness

“the quality or state of being noticeably and honestly happy”

Being cheerful has a contagious effect on people. Now granted when we’re in a dumpy mood, usually the last thing we want to be around is a cheerful person. Why is that? We say to ourselves “what do they have to be so happy about?” and then we proceed to hold onto our heavy mood. Why do we do this to ourselves?

If you’ve ever participated in or watched a sporting event where one team or player wins and the other team or player loses, we can see, without even knowing the score or what’s going on, who won and who did not. We expect the winner to be happy and cheerful. But how can we expect the team or player that lost to be happy and cheerful? Well here’s the thing, being happy is something we can control…when everything else around us seems to be out of our control. It’s just a decision away…and it takes courage, strength, and energy to do so but it can be done.

Today’s MotD is encouraging us to do just that…to be cheerful even in the midst of chaos. A tall order especially when so many people in the world are dealing with just that…chaos, upheaval, and uncertainly. Even for those of us who are observing from the safety of our own homes are finding it challenging to be cheerful at this time.

But here’s why it behooves us to do so…when we are in a true cheerful state, not only does it elevate our energy vibration, it also raises the energy vibration of those around us. And from this place of higher vibration, we have access to a greater expanse of solutions, remedies, and creativity which can alter the chaos to joy, peace, and love. Yes…it’s that powerful.

Just watch for yourself…

How about you? Is cheerfulness a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
