Worthy

“deserving respect, admiration, or support”

The whole time I was creating today’s MotD I kept hearing in my head the words we were suppose to recite as part of Sunday mass: “Lord, I am not worthy…”. Yes, there’s more to that line, however…how subliminally debilitating is it to say that week after week, month after month, year after year.

What we say after “I am” has power. With “I am” we are declaring ourselves to be whatever it is we say after “I am”. With a lot of therapy and effort over the years, I’ve been discovering the depths of my enough-ness…my worthiness. For me, it feels like a gradual, step-by-step process.

I’ve disassociated myself from that church/religion years ago although if, because of a funeral or wedding, I happen to be at a mass, when we come to that part of the service I purposefully and loudly proclaim “Lord, I AM worthy…”.

The fact that we are on this planet at this time says that we ARE worthy of being here. We ARE worthy of going after our dreams. We ARE worthy of being loved. And we are worthy because we are all of the Light and as such we are encouraged to stand confidently in our Light, proclaiming “I Am Here and I Am Worthy”.

How about you? Is worthy a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
