24-299 Drive

MotD 24-299 Drive — after. textured abstract background with varying colors of pink, salmon, green, yellow, gold, and off white. on top in red ink is a pink-ish, flower-like mandala sitting on top of a sturdy, wide stem with a branch that looks like an arrow pointing upwards. blobs of colors throughout are lightly outlined in black making it look like the stem is behind the blobs and the flower is popping out of the blobs with gold rays radiating out in all directions.

Drive

“to propel forward with energy and determination”

”Drive” is that force from inside us that makes us want to go after whatever it is we feel compelled to go after and not letting anything or anyone stop us or deter us…this especially includes our inner critic/judge or scared (and wounded?) inner child.

This “drive” is usually much stronger than the parts of us that are wanting to slow us down. That being said, it’s important to check in with these parts to see if they are making valid points. Chances are they just want to be heard…they tend to be like that small child getting ready to dive into the pool for the first time…they want to make sure they’re going to be safe.

For instance if I’m about to try something I haven’t done before, some fears may get triggered…like: what if I fail? what if it all goes wrong? what if I make a fool of myself? To that part(s) of me I’ll usually tell it: “you may be right, I might fall flat on my face…AND I’m willing to risk it for the potential of a greater reward. you’re fear is duly noted and I’m going to do it anyway”. With that I can usually make the drive forward.

How about you? Is drive a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
