Effectiveness

“the capability of producing a desired result”

I’d like to think that these mandalas of the day are producing a desired result…however that raises the question: what is the result I’m desiring from doing these? To be honest I hadn’t thought about them in that way.

Back in December 2014 a thought “popped” into my head to start a “mandala of the day” blog site. The amazing thing was that the “mandalaoftheday.com” domain name was available! So were “mandalaoftheweek.com”, “mandalaofthemonth.com”, and “mandalaoftheyear.com”. So I bought them all.

Little thought went into the whys or hows or whats or even the “desired result” of any of them. The idea was there…the domain names were there…so I just started doing them.

Thinking about it now, I supposed I wanted people to enjoy them, maybe gain some insights from them, and to color the ones that were just designs. For me, I wanted to have fun doing them…curiosity was/is the main driver of these…ie: what can I come up with next.

They were (and have been) an extraordinary opportunity to be creative and to gain & develop artistic skills in different media, to try out new-to-me ideas, and to see what new theme I can take next year. Wait until you see what I’m doing for the MotDs in 2025!

For all of the “Mandalas of the” sites, if all I wanted to do was to see if I could do them and maintain them (although I took a couple of years off from 2018-2021)…then I guess I’ve been mostly effective.
