Security
“a strong, positive sense of self-worth and belief in one’s abilities, and who feels comfortable and soured in who they are and what they can achieve”
This is one of those words that has a wide range of definitions. I felt compelled to pick this variation because everything else seemed to focus on stuff outside of ourselves…more like safe and safety. This one has a more inward vibe.
We’re encouraged with today’s MotD to do what we can to feel more secure as a person…in who we are and what we do. A secure person is someone who knows they can handle whatever comes their way, that no matter the struggle or tribulation they will remain true to themselves and stay true to their journey.
A secure person is willing and able to put themselves out there, to allow themselves to be vulnerable, and to go after what they believe in even if their fears try to stop them. A secure person believes in themselves and yet is willing and able to ask for help and listen to what others have to say.
Where does this security come from? It comes from having made in life this far and knowing that we’ve handled everything in some way, shape, or form along the way. It may not have been pretty, perfect, or “successful” by whatever standard was used, and yet we’re still here.
We just need to remind ourselves once in a while that we are worthy, we have abilities that are of value, and that we can allow ourselves to be comfortable in who we are and who we are becoming.
How about you? Is security a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
