It has a surreal quality about it.

Flexibility

“the ability to change or be changed easily according to the situation”

We need to be more flexible. Things are changing faster than ever…at least it appears that way to me. If we’re not paying attention, life will pass right by us, leaving us wondering “what just happened?”

As important as it is to “stay the course” with our goals/dreams, it’s just as important to be presently-aware so as to detect the “winds of change” in the air for a possible course correction. In simpler words, we’re encouraged to go with the flow. Yes, I know, it’s an overused term and yet it’s valid and still applies.

Without some flexibility we create a life full of resistance…saying “no” all the time. A life lived in resistance is a life of negativity, misery, and stagnation. Who wants that?

Yes, there’s a time and a place for both cases: resistance and flexibility. Like if we’re wanting to eat healthier, it would serve us best to resist the temptation to eat a whole, large bag of potato chips. On the other hand, if we were flexible about it, we could cut up an already cooked baked potato and roast the pieces until they have a little crispness to them. In my mind, that sounds like a much better option.

Maybe once in a while, we could play “say yes” day where we say yes to everything that’s offered or presented to us throughout the day. It could get quite wild and exiting, while at the same time, giving us the opportunity to flex our flexibility muscle.
