Cleanliness

“the act of maintaining an orderly, fresh, and well-cared-for environment”

While drawing this out today, I kept hearing that old adage: “cleanliness is next to Godliness”. I’ve come to understand that to mean: having a clean and orderly space, raises the vibration of that space and all who come into it. I know when my kitchen is freshly cleaned, my whole body feels uplifted every time I walk into that room, my spirit feels lighter…rather than entering it with dread, I enter with glee.

When I’ve newly reorganized/decluttered an area in my home, it brings me so much joy. For instance, we have this one particular table that seems to always accumulate “stuff”…I call it “the flat surface syndrome”. This table is like a magnet for “stuff”.

About a month ago, I declared this space cured of that syndrome. It livens my day, each day to see that table space cleaned of any debris. The bonus is that now we can actually use it for what it was intended without having to clear it first.

My husband and I have agreed that whenever either of us uses this table, we will clear it off righter after we’re done…so far so good! And I have to say, it feels heavenly to clearly see the entire table top.

And it’s not just about spaces…this includes ourselves. For instance, every time I take a hot shower, my whole mood changes. I feel happier, more optimistic, and energized. And putting on freshly cleaned clothes afterwards?…it’s Divine!
