Carefulness
“the quality of giving a lot of attention to what you are doing so that you prevent any accidents, mistakes, or damages”
The whole feeling of this mandala (to me) is this sense that we’re being watched over with care…that our team of guides and angels are ready to assist if we ask them to do so. On more than one occasion I know they have caught my attention in time to prevented an accident, a mistake, and/or some form of damage…either to me, someone else, or some random object.
I wish I had known more about them in my youth. I was often called careless by those around me because I was always bumping into things, knocking things over, and, of course, spilling more than my fair share of milk…and yes, I cried. I realize now that it was because I learned early on that I had to be hyper-vigilant so as to avoid “getting into trouble”…so much so that I tended to be thinking a few steps ahead of where my body was.
For instance, I would thinking I’d better hurry up and clear the table before I’m told to do so. Then I’d quickly stand up before I had my balance, thus knocking into something or “heaven forbid” dropping (breaking) a dish.
To this day I seem to always be thinking about 2-3 minutes ahead of my body. I’m forever noticing bruises and wondering “when did that one happen?” or “what did I bump into now?” or “how did I do that?”
My brain knows I need to slow down, be more mindful, and be more presently aware…I just need to get my body up to speed….and breathe. Sigh…I’m working on it.
How about you? Is carefulness a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

joyfully,

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
