Reflection

“serious and careful thought”

It’s come to my attention that I would benefit greatly from taking more time out to reflect, to ponder, to give serious and careful thought to my existence on this planet. I admit I let too many things distract me from some of the things I truly would love to do and be.

In the last couple of weeks I’ve come to realize that I’ve been treating my “business” more like a hobby than a business. It’s not so much about the money, although that is a factor, it’s more about allowing myself, my art, and my message to be seen.

Over the last couple of months I’ve been internally sensing that I’m play too small…that I need to be more visible…that it’s okay to dream big and manifest big.

Everyday I receive inspiration emails from the archives of Vernon Howard, a metaphysical and philosophical author I’ve been reading for years. Today’s “clip” from his book “Esoteric Encyclopedia of Eternal Knowledge” seem’s appropriate for “reflection”…It’s about pondering “uncertainty”.

Only by passing all the way through uncertainty do we come to final
assurance. A woman may think, ‘Marriage will confer happiness.’ A man
reasons, ‘Financial success will bring security.’

Both make the same mistake, not realizing it. Their personal certainties
are false. Both have taken exciting assumptions as final facts. Sooner or
later, each will sadly discover that marriage does not deliver happiness,
that money does not provide inner safety.

What must we do? We must have no ideas whatever about the attraction of
happiness and security. We must see the difference between an assumption
about happiness and happiness itself. In other words we must enter
uncertainty and remain there, not minding any temporary nervousness it
causes. It helps to remember that true happiness resides above all mere
ideas about happiness.

So stand on uncertain ground. Remain there. Something immense will happen.”
