Patience

“the ability to accept delay, suffering, or annoyance without complaining or becoming upset”

When people would watch me crochet doilies, they would say something like “I wouldn’t have the patience to do that”. To which I would reply: “it doesn’t require patience when you love to do it”.

I’ve had people tell me that I should make quilts with my mandala designs. To which I would reply: “I don’t have the patience for it”. See what I did there??? However, I could create designs for people who DO have the patience for quilting to make their own.

Interestingly enough, this week’s focus card is “Accept” with its message being to “accept where we are”. It doesn’t mean we have to condone it or stay there, it just means to see it as a starting point from which to move forward. And to accept it without judgment…or complaining or becoming upset…IT. JUST. IS.

When we decided we wanted to move to Oregon, it took five years and a lot of patience to make that happen. Halfway through that five years, I asked the Universe “why are we still in Florida when we all know we want to be in Oregon?” That night I had a dream that clearly informed me that things are not in place yet to make that move happen…and…to be patient and to make the most of where I was.

So essentially…just because things may look like they’re not happening, know that more than likely, things are happening behind the scenes. Just Be Patient!

How about you? Is patience a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
