Being Thoughtful

“being kind and always thinking about how you can help others”

My mother instilled being thoughtful into my psyche at an early age. It was important to her that I always find ways to be helpful. This brings to mind the many church events that the Ladies Guild (I think that’s what they were called) put on throughout the year.

My mother, being an active member, started bringing me along to help as soon as she determined I was old enough to be helpful…I believe I was around 7yo. If I wasn’t helping with food prep, I was setting tables, or seeking out other people who looked like they needed some help with whatever they were doing.

To this day, this is still part of my psyche. Just the other day, at a friendsgiving dinner, I hung out mostly in the kitchen doing what I could to help the host with the meal prep. At one point he said…”you’re like the puzzle solver-er…you see a problem/puzzle and you know how to solve it”.

As we head into 2025, we’re encouraged to find ways of being thoughtful…even the smallest of ways can be like magic to others and a joy for us.

How about you? Is being thoughtful a core value for you?

BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day

Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
