Steadiness
“behavior that is reasonable and shows good judgment, so that people trust you”
As best I could, I maintained a slow and steady hand in drawing today’s mandala. It required greater focus and mindfulness on my part…something I should probably do every time when creating these. I usually draw quickly and freely, as the spirit moves me, which sometimes means there are “mis-steps” that make it a more organic and, hopefully, pleasing drawing.
Granted that’s not exactly what today’s definition meant…it was talking about being reliable, someone that people can count on to “get the job done” …so to speak.
I don’t know if it’s reasonable or showing good judgment, but I’ve been steadily doing the Mandalas of the Day, daily, without fail for the last three years. I actually started the MotDs in 2015 and did it consistently for three years at that time. Then I took a four-year break. I plan to continue them through 2025.
Essentially, today’s MotD begs the question…can people trust us to be consistently reasonable while steadily showing good judgment? Excellent question.
How about you? Is steadiness a core value for you?
BTW…here’s what it looked like to begin with …

About the 2024 Mandalas of the Day
Each day I will create and post a mandala inspired by one of 366 “value” words chosen randomly. The objective being to discover for myself which ones would best represent my core values…and by doing so, I hope it inspires you to determine your own.
