Find the Value
One way to regain our peace in cases where we allowed ourselves to be triggered, is to find the value in that situation or experience. I realize that right now many people around the world are struggling with horrendous situations that would make it extremely difficult for anyone to find the value in experiencingā¦and yet, weāre encouraged to challenge ourselves to find the valueā¦even if the value equates to the size of a grain of sand. Hold onto that.
For instance (and this is NO WHERE NEAR what others are going through right now), in the early 90s I ran for the office of County Commissionerā¦as an independent in a very Republican county. I spent nine months of knocking on doors, getting signatures so I could be on the ballot, doing candidate forums, and so on. In the end, I lost. It was heartbreaking.
Because of it though, some opportunities came my way that otherwise would have not. And five years later I was hired by the County to develop their first web siteā¦it was almost double the salary of being a commissioner AND it was a super fun job AND I didnāt have to deal with the politics of being a commissioner! And four years after that I won a national award called āThe Award of Excellenceā for this very same website.
Currently, Iām dealing with some annoying health issues, so today Iām asking myself āwhatās the value in this case?ā For one, itās reminding me that I need to take better care of myself and more importantly, that I am WORTH the effort.
How about you? Are you able to find the value in what youāre experiencing right now? What would it be? Is there a challenging experience from your past that you could determine the value of having gone through it?
BTWā¦Hereās the beforeā¦the front and back view of todayās puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each dayās puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day
Throughout the year, Iāll be building one large (48āx48ā) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a timeā¦one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48āx48ā wood panel.
Each day, at random, Iāll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattieās book ā52 Weeks of Conscious Contactā.
Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
