That’s Interesting
As we face the challenges of our healing journey, this puzzle piece encourages us to mindfully add one extra step as situations come up that normally trigger us. Instead of knee-jerk reactions (ie…reacting like we usually do), pause for a nanosecond and say “that’s interesting”, as a way to break the grip of our trigger.
By taking that pause, we give ourselves that extra moment to consciously decide how we want to “respond” to the trigger. For example, instead of always “freaking out” when someone cuts us off while we’re driving, trip the circuit breaker to the trigger by saying “that’s interesting”. Or we could do a longer version: “that’s interesting. that person just cut me off. normally I would automatically react with anger but this time I can choose how I want to respond.” We can still choose to be angry about it but at least we knowingly opted to be angry.
Essentially, saying “that’s interesting” puts us in charge instead of our normal automatic reactions.
How about you? Are there instances where you would be able to interject a “that’s interesting” before automatically reacting per usual?
PS: In the process of doing this post, three different “mis-takes” happened where I was given the opportunity to say “that’s interesting”…rather than be bothered by this “mis-takes”, I wound up laughing at myself. It works, if you work it.
BTW…Here’s the before…the front and back view of today’s puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each day’s puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day
Throughout the year, I’ll be building one large (48”x48”) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a time…one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48”x48” wood panel.
Each day, at random, I’ll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattie’s book “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact”.
Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
