What to Do Next
This week we focus on “Guidance”. Today’s MotD reminds us that we’re not alone and that we don’t have to figure out everything on our own…we can ask for guidance regarding what to do next. Our Team of Guides and Angels, our Higher Self, our Higher Power (whatever name we want to use for our Divine guidance) are there to help us—they want us to succeed. They also have a broader perspective than we do.
As a mundane example… I create a daily task list, which usually has more stuff on it than I know I can or want to do—some of the items are just there to remind me that at some point in time, these need to get done. Usually it’s obvious as to which ones need to be done first, the rest are up for grabs. That’s when I ask for guidance from my Team of Guides and Angels and/or my Higher Self.
I usually ask: of all the tasks on my list today, which one serves me best to do next? I usually get a visual of the task or sometimes I’ll hear it in my head. If nothing comes up, I’ll ask if something needs to be done that’s not on the list…like laundry, run an errand, a project that I may have forgotten about doing.
As for my system, I use my intuition (gut feeling, mind-sight, body response—goosebumps, energy levels, buzzy feeling at the top of my head, etc) and/or my body as a pendulum (usually for yes/no confirmation questions). I will also ask for a sign as to what to do next for bigger, more general questions like does it serve me to move to ____________, or do I take my art in a different direction, or do I look into doing collaborations or continue working solo, and so on.
We’re encouraged to use whatever system that helps us tap into our Inner/Soul/Divine guidance. It may be that we need to develop a system, in that case start with simple stuff (what to have for dinner) to build up confidence in the system, then move onto more challenging questions.
How about you? When struggling with what to do next, do you ask for guidance or try to figure it out for yourself? Are you open to asking for guidance? Do you have a system you trust for receiving guidance?
BTW…Here’s the before…the front and back view of today’s puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each day’s puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day
Throughout the year, I’ll be building one large (48”x48”) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a time…one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48”x48” wood panel.
Each day, at random, I’ll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattie’s book “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact”.
Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
