The Answer May Be Different
This week we focus on “Guidance”. Today’s MotD reminds me of the classic Rolling Stones song “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”…but if you try sometime, you just might find you get what you need. Same goes for when we ask for guidance. We may want a specific answer to our question, but usually we get the answer that we need. And because of that we may think we’re not getting any guidance or the wrong guidance…because it’s not coming to us the way we want it. All the more reason having an open mind about receiving the guidance is important.
For instance, I had newly started dating a guy (this was about 38 years ago). On one of our dates, he cooked dinner for me (super sweet of him) and then I watched while he washed the dishes (this guy’s a keeper!). While having that thought, in my mind’s eye, a vision appeared in which a small plane flew slowly by my eyes with a banner flapping behind it. On the banner it said: “this will never work out”. I shook my head and told myself “yes it will…I’ll make sure of it”. (I am my father’s daughter—a story for another time)
Three years later after many heartbreaking on-agains and off-agains with our relationship, I ultimately ended it. Turns out the banner was correct. Had I heeded the guidance in the first place, I could have saved myself a lot of heartache. Oh well…at least it eventually sunk in. Next month, I and the guy I later met and married will be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. So…there is that. 💜
How about you ? Are you open to receiving a different answer than the one you wanted ? Are you willing to heed the guidance of a different answer ?
BTW…Here’s the before…the front and back view of today’s puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each day’s puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day
Throughout the year, I’ll be building one large (48”x48”) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a time…one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48”x48” wood panel.
Each day, at random, I’ll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattie’s book “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact”.
Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
