A Good Reason
Our focus this week — July 23–30: “Duty”
Today’s MotD: A Good Reason. When it comes to doing what we must, especially when we don’t feel like it, we’re encouraged to focus on the why of it. When we’re clear on our why, it makes it that much easier to follow through on completing the task. Yes, it’s going to be annoying, challenging, maybe even painful in some way, but when we know it’s for a good reason, it’s make it easier to bear.
The other day I talked about how I had put off reaching out to a potential collaborator (we’ll call her Jane) with some mandala designs I sketched out. All manner of fears were in play. However knowing I wanted to make this collaboration happen, that it could potentially give me even more opportunities down the road, I took a deep breath, wrote the email, and sent it on its way. The very next day I heard from Jane…she loved the mandala designs. This means I’m another step closer to making this project a reality. Whew!
How about you ? For everything you may be putting off doing, what would be your why for DOING each of them ? Will focusing more on your why make it easier for you to follow through with the task ? What’s one step you can take today on one of your “putting off” projects ?
BTW…Here’s the before…the front and back view of today’s puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each day’s puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day
Throughout the year, I’ll be building one large (48”x48”) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a time…one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48”x48” wood panel.
Each day, at random, I’ll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattie’s book “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact”.
Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
