Someone Else’s Good Fortune
Our focus this week — Sep 3–9: “Goodwill”
Today’s MotD: Someone Else’s Good Fortune. We are encouraged to be supportive of and happy for others’ good fortune. This can be challenging when it seems like everyone else is experiencing good things while good fortune seems to sliding right by us.
Left un-“processed”, this feeling can lead to envy, jealously, and resentment…and how does that help us with our forward progress ? All it does is send us down an ever-ending downward spiral…essentially we become victims.
Instead, as we are happy and supportive of others’ success we can use their good fortune as inspiration to go after our own. So instead of saying to ourselves “I can’t seem to get ahead”, which puts us in victim mode, turn it around and ask ourselves (to paraphrase Coach Val J):
“In what ways CAN I take action to get ahead ? ” then
“In what ways WILL I take action to get ahead ?” and then afterwards
“In what ways DID I take action to get ahead“?
These, my friends, are empowering questions.
We’re reminded that by witnessing other people’s success, it has the potential to empower us to take action towards creating our own good fortune and success…if we’re willing to see it with that mindset.
How about you ? Do you prefer to be in victim mode or empowerment mode ? Are you open to seeing the success of others as inspiration to go after your own ? Instead of saying “I can’t”, how about reframing it to: “in what ways can and will I take action towards my own good fortune today ?”
BTW…Here’s the before…the front and back view of today’s puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each day’s puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day
Throughout the year, I’ll be building one large (48”x48”) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a time…one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48”x48” wood panel.
Each day, at random, I’ll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattie’s book “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact”.
Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
