Force vs Harmony
Our focus this week — Sep 10-16: “Harmony”
Today’s MotD: Force vs Harmony. When faced with our day-to-day lives, do we tend to force things to go the way we want them to or do we go with the flow of what is ? Today we’re encouraged to pay attention to whether we’re in resistance mode or harmony mode.
Resistance mode is going up against what is, essentially trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. It creates anger, frustration, and resentment…not an ounce of harmony to be found anywhere.
Harmony mode is accepting (not condoning) what is and adjusting our course as needed. Continuing with the square peg/round hole scenario, we stop to look around for a round peg that easily fits in the round hole.
For instance, decades ago while living in L.A., I wanted to work for Hughes Aircraft. I tried the normal route by walking in their front door, filling out an application, and submitting it. Only to find out later it was rejected and that I could try again in six months. [square peg / round hole] I knew I was qualified to be hired. I was about eight months away from earning my Computer Science degree. I just had to find another way to get in. [looking for a round peg]
So I researched which temp agencies Hughes Aircraft used. I applied and was hired by three of them. I told them that I would only accept jobs at Hughes Aircraft. After my first temp job (and talking it up with people that I thought could help me), I applied for and was accepted into their summer engineering intern program. In the fall, they hired as an engineering student. When I graduated a few months later, I was promoted to full-fledged engineer. [round peg / round hole] I wound up working there for five years before moving to Florida (another story for another time).
How about you ? In what areas are of your life are you trying to put a “square peg in a round hole” ? Instead of resisting or trying to force the “square peg”, are you open to finding a way to be in harmony with the situation ? Is there another way (“round peg”) to achieve what you’re trying to manifest ?
BTW…Here’s the before…the front and back view of today’s puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each day’s puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day
Throughout the year, I’ll be building one large (48”x48”) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a time…one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48”x48” wood panel.
Each day, at random, I’ll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattie’s book “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact”.
Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
