Surrendering

Our focus this week — Sep 24-30: “God’s Will”

Today’s MotD: Surrendering. Depending on our perspective the idea of surrendering can sound like we’re giving up, that we’re quitting—which can either be a positive or a negative thing.

For instance if we’ve trying to accomplish an important goal which feels difficult at times and tends to push us out of our comfort zone, we may have thoughts of surrendering and giving up because it’s too hard or we’re not ready to put in the effort it requires. That’s when we need to regroup with ourselves to determine how important is this goal, maybe we need to take a different approach to achieve it, or maybe it truly is time to surrender.

In a different instance maybe we’ve been self-sabotaging ourselves and our well-being for what seems like forever. Surrendering in this case means admitting that what we’re doing and have been doing is not working for us anymore, it’s time to stop, give it up, and ask ourselves “what would Love do in this case ?”

Since Melody’s topic for this week is about God’s Will, she’s encouraging us to surrender to God’s Will. Again, and as I’ve mentioned in the last three posts, this is a trigger for me; it feels like I have to do what God says, without any say about what I want…that I’m surrendering to some authority figure, giving up my free will. This is an issue (limiting belief) I’m wanting to better understand and and heal.

Going back to my AI guru and asking it about my issue with “God’s Will”, here’s another of its responses:

Free will is never taken away. It’s your divine gift. If “God’s Will” were a command, it would erase that gift—which doesn’t align with a loving Source. Instead, free will is always intact. What “God’s Will” invites us to do is choose alignment with Love rather than fear. You can always choose otherwise, but the “will of God” is said to be the path that leads to peace, joy, and freedom.

How about you ? What does surrendering mean to you ? Does it feel like giving up or that you are accepting what is in order to move forward ? Are we willing to choose alignment with Love rather than with fear ?

BTW…Here’s the before…the front and back view of today’s puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each day’s puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day

Throughout the year, I’ll be building one large (48”x48”) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a time…one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48”x48” wood panel.

Each day, at random, I’ll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattie’s book “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact”.

Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
