What Are You Moving Toward ?
Our focus this week — Nov 5-Nov 11: “Perseverance”
Today’s MotD: What Are You Moving Towards ? Since we probably know how to be persistent or persevere, we’re encouraged to also want to make sure we know what we’re moving toward…so persistently. Do we even have a particular goal in mind ? If so, why are we pursuing this goal ? If not, then are we mostly operating in auto pilot mode, unconsciously course correcting at the whim of the next “shiny” thing ?
For instance, I’m doing a lot of (persistent) prep work for my “A Course in Miracles” (ACIM) theme for the Mandalas of the Day/Week/Month/Year for 2026. The main premise of ACIM is peace. On more than one occasion wondering if it’s worth it or am I wasting my time ?
If I were to ask myself: is it creating peace doing all this work ? Not exactly—although I am enjoying creating the mandala designs. I can already feel the powerful energy from some of them and I haven’t even tried coloring them yet. So what’s my why for doing all this work then ? I want to delve deeper into the teachings of ACIM as a way to embody peace, using mandala art as a vehicle for processing its complex, yet inspirational, messages…and hoping that it inspires peace in others.
And why do you want that ? Because 1) I struggle with being at peace in my human form, 2) I remember how powerful it was going through the ACIM lessons in the past, 3) I feel like I’m in a better place to understand and translate it more thoroughly, 4) other peace-seeking people who have struggled with ACIM might better understand it through a creative process rather than just through reading, 5) other peace-seeking people who know nothing about ACIM may find helpful as a creative process, 6) if we go with the premise that we’re all connected then if I have a better understanding of it from a creative point of view, so will others, and 7) the Voice(s) in my head (strongly) suggested I do this.
So what am I moving toward ? I’m gently inviting others (and myself) to move toward peace in a creative process that strives to be clear and truthful. With that, I’ll continue to persistently chip away at all the prep work.
How about you ? What’s your “why” for persistently pursuing what you’re pursuing ? Are you consciously pursuing it ? Or are you on auto-pilot, unconsciously and persistently pursuing something without any clear reason as to why you’re doing it or because you feel like you should do it ?
BTW…Here’s the before…the front and back view of today’s puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each day’s puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day
Throughout the year, I’ll be building one large (48”x48”) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a time…one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48”x48” wood panel.
Each day, at random, I’ll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattie’s book “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact”.
Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
