Assessing Our Commitments
Our focus this week — Nov 19-Nov 25: “Commitment”
Today’s MotD: Assessing Our Commitments. We’re encouraged to take a look at our current commitments to determine their status. Are we on track to complete them ? If it’s a life-long commitment, are we able to maintain it ? Are there any that we are avoiding ? Are there any we need to admit that we cannot fulfill … and can we let the appropriate people know ?
Are there any commitments that we didn’t realize we made or that were made for us ? Chances are these are ones we made to ourselves long ago (even as early as our childhood)…that can also look like limiting beliefs. For instance, being committed to never being like one of our parents, or making sure we eat everything on our plate, or being committed to following the norm of getting married and having kids, or being committed to doing things or making choices so as to make other people happy, and so on.
Some of my current chosen commitments are doing the Mandalas of the Day/Week/Month/Year, decluttering our home, releasing excess weight, and putting myself out there more with my business.
Some of the unconscious commitments from my past that I’ve made (and have since canceled or reversed) are once you get married you can never get a divorce, going to mass every Sunday, doing whatever I can to make my parents happy (regardless of how it affects me), and thinking that I’ll never be good enough…about anything.
By honestly and consciously assessing our commitments, we get to decide which ones we’ll follow through on and which ones will release or reverse.
How about you ? What are some of your current commitments ? Do you remember why you agreed to do them ? Which ones are more likely to be fulfilled and which ones are not ?
BTW…Here’s the before…the front and back view of today’s puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each day’s puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day
Throughout the year, I’ll be building one large (48”x48”) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a time…one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48”x48” wood panel.
Each day, at random, I’ll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattie’s book “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact”.
Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
