Sacred Place
Our focus this week — Dec 17-23: “Meditation”
Today’s MotD: Sacred Place. We’re encouraged to designate a place or space, either internally or externally, where we can go to recharge, reconnect, relax, and/or meditate. By designating a space/place, we’re letting ourselves know that when we go there, we are safe, we can be fully present, and we can be free from the noise—internal and/or external.
Externally, it could be a room in our home, a small area in our room with an altar, in could be in our car, a quiet corner in a library, a garden, a park, or even a pathway for doing a walking meditation. We could even designate a piece of jewelry, a hand-painted stone, or a specific article of clothing as our sacred place—a gentle reminder of who we are: consciousness having a human experience.
Internally, it could be closing our eyes for a moment, doing a visualization of a real or imagined place, focusing on our breathing, focusing on one of our body’s energy centers, focusing on our heart, it could even be an activity that allows us to creatively express what’s going on internally with us, and so on.
Wherever it is, having a sacred place is key to allowing ourselves to feel whole and complete just as we are…even if it’s only for that moment.
How about you ? Do you have an altar or sacred place ? Do you have a particular location that when you’re there, it uplifts your spirits, calms your souls, or allows you to relax ? If you were to visualize a sacred place, where would it be and what would it look/feel like ?
BTW…Here’s the before…the front and back view of today’s puzzle piece and the pretty ceramic box that holds all my numbers from which I randomly choose each day’s puzzle piece number:

ABOUT THE 2025 Mandalas of the Day
Throughout the year, I’ll be building one large (48”x48”) Tibetan-styled Mandala one piece at a time…one puzzle piece at a time, that is. The mandala design and the reversed puzzle side were printed on artist-quality watercolor paper. The forward facing puzzle side was printed on a 48”x48” wood panel.
Each day, at random, I’ll be painting in watercolors one of the 365 watercolor puzzle pieces, that by the end of the year will become Archangel Mandala #4. Read more about the Archangel Series. The word/message for each piece will be inspired by Melody Beattie’s book “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact”.
Ultimately, the message of this mandala is about how we are all uniquely part of the one.
