Lesson 014: ”God did not create a meaningless world.”
AI Reframe: A deeper order exists beneath apparent chaos.
▶️ If you have an issue with the use of “God”, please read ”About the 2026 Mandalas and ACIM”
Suggested Exercise:
No more than three times today, and for a minute at most, close your eyes and think of all the horrors in the world that cross your mind. Name each one and then deny its reality. God (or whatever replacement word resonates with you) did not create it, and so it is not real.
For example:
God did not create that war, and so it is not real
Love did not create that natural disaster, and so it is not real
The Universe did not create cancer, and so it is not real
Conclude the minute by repeating today’s idea:
God (Love, Universe, Bob, Whatever…) did not create a meaningless world.
BTW…you can apply this idea to any disturbances you experience throughout your day.

Today we dig even deeper into the idea of a “meaningless” world—and into the question of who created it…or rather, who did not.
I won’t sugarcoat it—this lesson can challenge you, possibly trigger you, and even stop you in your tracks. If that happens, I’m simply inviting you to hang in there.
BTW… “God” is the term ACIM uses to describe what I understand to be a power or source greater than ourselves. I’ll use that word—along with alternatives—so we can stay focused on the message rather than getting tangled up in the messenger.
As we established in earlier lessons, when we let the ego-mind translate, interpret, and perceive the people, places, events, and situations in our lives, it does so from fear and from its limited understanding. What it produces isn’t truth, but a distorted meaning—an illusion—something that appears real, yet isn’t rooted in reality as ACIM defines it.
Because anything that can be interpreted can also be misinterpreted. Anything that can be translated can be lost in translation. And anything that is perceived is almost always perceived from a limited point of view.
So when we do this exercise—when we bring these horrors to mind and feel them as horrors—we’re being reminded that Love didn’t create this. God didn’t create it. The Universe didn’t create it. What was created was the meaning assigned to it by the ego-mind, viewing everything through the lens of fear.
This exercise isn’t asking us to deny the appearance of horror. It asks us to question the conclusion we’re drawing from it. It asks us to deny that suffering is God’s intention or the truth of who we are. Saying it isn’t real means it wasn’t sourced in love—and therefore, in ACIM terms, it doesn’t get to be defined as real.
Essentially, we’re being invited to notice who is assigning meaning to these “horrors”—and to gently question whether fear should be in charge.
“So today, I’m gonna whoop and holler and recognize that anything that disturbs me, anything that isn’t out-and-out gorgeous or doesn’t ooze with big-ass fun is an illusion I concocted. And poof! I have the power to make it disappear. Sometimes I even ask politely.”
