Lesson 035: ”My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy.”
AI Reframe: My mind is connected to a larger, peaceful intelligence.
Suggested Practice:
Three, five-minute sessions are recommended today: morning, mid-day, and evening. Begin by repeating today’s idea (or whatever variation of it that resonates best for you). Then close your eyes and search your mind for the various kinds of descriptive terms in which you see yourself. “Include all the ego-based attributes which you ascribe to yourself, positive or negative, desirable or undesirable, grandiose or debased. All of them are equally unreal, because you do not look upon yourself through the eyes of holiness [truth, divinity, love, joy]”.
Examples from the lesson:
²I see myself as imposed on.
³I see myself as depressed.
⁴I see myself as failing.
⁵I see myself as endangered.
⁶I see myself as helpless.
⁷I see myself as victorious.
⁸I see myself as losing out.
⁹I see myself as charitable.
¹⁰I see myself as virtuous. (ACIM, W-35.6:2-10)
After you have named each one, say:
But my mind is part of God’s [love, joy, source, the universe, etc.].
I am very holy. [or something like: I am of the Light]
It’s also recommended to repeat today’s idea—or your version of it—throughout the day as you notice other attributes you assign to yourself. In either the short or longer sessions, if nothing comes to mind, just keep repeating the idea—or your version of it.

Message
This lesson opens with:
“Today’s idea does not describe the way you see yourself now.
It does, however, describe what vision will show you.
It is difficult for anyone who thinks he is in this world to believe this of himself.
Yet the reason he thinks he is in this world is because he does not believe it.”
(ACIM, W-35.1:1-4)
The way I understand today’s idea is that we’re being shown a true vision of ourselves—one that contrasts sharply with how we currently see ourselves. If the words “God” and “holy” feel activating or triggering (as they are for me), we’re invited to focus on the message, not the delivery.
For me, I translated today’s idea as:
My mind is part of the All That Is. I am of the Light.
The exercise has us look honestly at how we identify ourselves right now—from the ego-mind’s perspective—moving through traits we judge as negative and positive. With each one, we’re gently reminded that this self-image, however convincing, is not the whole story.
It’s as if our Higher Self is saying:
“I see how you currently define yourself—failing or successful, depressed or generous, and so on. And I also want you to remember that you are part of something vast. Something divine. Something that cannot be reduced to a personality snapshot.”
So what’s really happening here is a shift in mirrors.
One mirror reflects who we think we are—our image.
The other reflects who we truly are—vision.
Like many lessons before this one, the invitation isn’t to fully understand it. It’s simply to loosen our grip on the small version of ourselves and open, even slightly, to the possibility that we are far more than we’ve imagined.
“Today…I stop to look at how I’m perceiving the world. And I conceded that I’m the one setting everything into motion.”
