Lesson 041: ”God goes with me wherever I go.”

AI Reframe: A steady inner presence is with me at all times.

Suggested Practice:
One, three-five minute practice is required in the morning. Close your eyes. Slowly repeat today’s idea. Then sit quietly without trying to think about anything. Sink down and deep within yourself. Repeat the idea as needed, however the intention is reach past all the thoughts, to leave appearances and approach reality.

From the lesson:

“Today we will make our first real attempt to get past this dark and heavy cloud, and to go through it to the light beyond.” (ACIM, W-41.5:1-3)

Then, throughout the day, use today’s idea often, repeating it very slowly, preferably with eyes closed. Think about what you’re saying, what the words mean.

Message

In essence, today’s lesson is telling us that when we apply, believe, and fully embrace this one idea, it has the power to end many of the “ills of the world”—both inner and outer. If you can, I highly recommend reading the lesson in full—it carries a reassurance that my words alone can’t quite replicate..

Think about it: if we truly believed that such a powerful resource goes with us wherever we go, would we continue to tolerate all the foolishness of our inner and outer worlds?

Probably not. We would access that higher wisdom at every opportunity, trusting that it is always for us and always aligned with our best interest.

This is what we’re gently training our minds toward as we move through The Course—not perfection, but willingness. For many of us, this idea may feel daunting, outrageous—and yes, even ridiculous.

Realizing that that may be the case, the Lesson offers us this reassuring message:

“We understand that you do not believe all this. ²How could you, when the truth is hidden deep within, under a heavy cloud of insane thoughts, dense and obscuring, yet representing all you see? ³Today we will make our first real attempt to get past this dark and heavy cloud, and to go through it to the light beyond.” (ACIM, W-41.5:1-3)

So whether we believe it or not, let’s open our minds—even just a little—to the possibility that this idea might be more than comforting words.

It may be, as the lesson suggests, a genuine cure for most—if not all—of what we think stands between us and our peace.

“And I will know that anything that might look like a problem is just me making up a story that will go ‘poor’ the minute I withdraw my belief.”
