Lesson 055: ”Review of Lessons -21-25.”
AI Reframe: A fearful viewpoint distorts my world, but another interpretation is available.
Suggested Practice:
Begin the day by reading the five ideas with their comments included.
For the remainder of the day, do two-minute practices as often as possible focusing on the ideas and comments that resonate for you in the particular practice session.
”After you have read the idea and the related comments, the exercises should be done with your eyes closed and when you are alone in a quiet place, if possible.”
”This is emphasized for practice periods at your stage of learning. ²It will be necessary, however, that you learn to require no special settings in which to apply what you have learned. ³You will need your learning most in situations that appear to be upsetting, rather than in those that already seem to be calm and quiet. ⁴The purpose of your learning is to enable you to bring the quiet with you, and to heal distress and turmoil.”

Message
Today’s five review ideas invite us to release meaningless thoughts and perceptions in exchange for seeing things differently—and for the better.
I am determined to see things differently.
What I see is a form of vengeance.
I can escape from this world by giving up attack thoughts.
I do not perceive my own best interests.
I do not know what anything is for.
Here’s my take on each of them.
“I am determined to see things differently.”
Yes, please. Because mostly, what and how I see does not come from a place of peace or joy. When things feel especially out of control, I turn this into a mantra—a prayer:
Help me see this differently.
It may not bring instant peace, but it does soften me into a calmer, more neutral space. And from there, I’m far more willing—far more able—to truly see differently.
“What I see is a form of vengeance.”
I didn’t understand this one when I first read it years ago. Now I do. When I’m in fear mode, I see everything through that lens. I project my attack thoughts outward and then react to what I think I see. What else would you call that but vengeance?
“I can escape from this world by giving up attack thoughts.”
This feels like the answer to the previous idea. As the lesson says, without attack thoughts I could not see a world of attack. When I release them, I return to love—or at least to neutrality—where a different world becomes visible. A world of peace, safety, even joy.
“I do not perceive my own best interests.”
How could I? My view is limited—especially when filtered through fear. Remembering the Source within me, with its broader perspective, helps me trust that there is wisdom beyond my ego’s agenda. There is a larger view of what truly serves me.
“I do not know what anything is for.”
This doesn’t feel like defeat. It feels like freedom. I’m loosening my grip on what I think things mean. It’s a humble admission: I tried it my way and ended up with a world of illusions wrapped in anxiety—and no souvenir to show for it. So I’m willing to open my mind to a different purpose. A truer one.
Practicing these ideas—even imperfectly—can shift everything. What once looked like a world of fear begins to soften. And in that softening, something else becomes possible: peace, clarity, joy.
“True reality presents a world of peace and safety and joy.”
