Lesson 063: ”The light of the world brings peace to every mind through my forgiveness.”
AI Reframe: When I let go, I contribute to peace around me.
Suggesteod Practice:
One-two minute sessions at the beginning and ending of your day. And for as many practice periods as possible throughout the day. Start each session, with eyes closed if possible, by telling yourself:
The light of the world brings peace to every mind through my forgiveness. I am the means God* has appointed for the salvation of the world.
Let related thoughts come to you within each practice, without forcing them.
* feel free to use whatever term works best for you.

Message
From the lesson:
“How holy are you who have the power to bring peace to every mind! ²How blessed are you who can learn to recognize the means for letting this be done through you! ³What purpose could you have that would bring you greater happiness?”
“You are indeed the light of the world with such a function. ²[Others look] to you for [their] redemption. ³It is yours to give him, for it belongs to you. ⁴Accept no trivial purpose or meaningless desire in its place, or you will forget your function and leave [others to suffer]. ⁵This is no idle request that is being asked of you. ⁶You are being asked to accept salvation that it may be yours to give.” (ACIM, W-63.1:1–2:6)
This reminds me of a moment in therapy years ago. I was complaining—again—about how awful my parents were. As my therapist gently encouraged me to see them in a different light, I snapped, “Why do I have to change? How come they don’t have to change?”
She replied, “Because you can. It’s not in their awareness that they can change.”
That became a defining moment in my healing. It shifted something fundamental.
A few years later, my dad said to me, “You’ve changed. You seem much happier and easier to be around.” Earnest (my ego-mind) wanted to come out swinging—as if I had always been the problem. Instead, I simply said, “Thank you.”
I share this as a reminder: the world needs those of us who can change to do so. To acknowledge our Light. To forgive our grievances. To choose peace.
When we do, it ripples outward—quietly offered, quietly received—by those who are ready for their own peace and joy.
“Lesson 63…basically says that when I give up my old story, I’m left with nothing but peace and joy.”
