Lesson 080: ”Let me recognize my problems have been solved.”
AI Reframe: The real answer is already within my reach.
Suggested Exercise:
For the longer practices, focus on the idea of only one problem, one solution. All problems, regardless of their level of severity, are based on one problem—the belief in separation, which is only true from our ego-mind’s perspective. The solution? Since separation doesn’t exist—we are all connected to God* and everyone else—therefore the problem is already healed. Problem has already been solved.
From the Lesson:
“Now let the peace that your acceptance brings be given you. ²Close your eyes, and receive your reward. ³Recognize that your problems have been solved. ⁴Recognize that you are out of conflict; free and at peace. ⁵Above all, remember that you have one problem, and that the problem has one solution. ⁶It is in this that the simplicity of salvation lies. ⁷It is because of this that it is guaranteed to work.” (ACIM, W-80.5:1-7)
Throughout the day, assure yourself of today’s idea. Repeat it often. If a problem arises, say to yourself:
Let me recognize this problem has been solved.

A Course in Miracles teaches that we have only one central problem: the belief that we are separate from God and everyone else. The solution is that this isn’t true. It exists only as a perceptual distortion in our ego minds—the belief that we are a vulnerable, separate self navigating a hostile world, alone and responsible for ensuring everything goes right.
The reality is: we remain as we were created: safe, whole, and guided.
Perhaps it serves us better to substitute “fact” for “problem.” Using “problem” immediately creates worry, fear, and uncertainty, all of which disrupt our peace. Experience has taught me that trying to solve problems from this mindset is a struggle, often taking me further from peace. But if I see my “problems” as facts—neutral—I maintain peace, making it easier for the solution to come to me rather than frantically forcing a fix.
Take my upcoming trip to Paris. Up until today’s lesson, my ego mind—I call him Earnest—has been in his glory. He’s generated a host of separate issues, each demanding its own solution: security lines, luggage, shoes, geopolitics, transit logistics, eSIM cards.
To Earnest, each is a real problem requiring careful management. My mind becomes fragmented, anxious, pulled in a dozen directions. He loves this because as long as I’m chasing solutions to individual problems, I never question the fundamental premise that there is a problem at all.
The solution isn’t finding the perfect carry-on or the optimal transit strategy. Those are fine to attend to, but they are not the solution. The solution is recognizing that the underlying belief—that I am a separate self navigating a precarious world—is not true.
When my mind is calmed by remembering this, I may still choose a bag or figure out transit. But now I do it from trust rather than frantic problem-solving. It’s the difference between “I must get this right or else” and “I am guided; I will do what seems wise and release the rest.”
In a conversation with AI about this lesson, it offered a three-step approach:
- Recognize the one problem beneath the form: I am believing I am a separate self, alone and responsible for managing this.
- Release it to the Holy Spirit: This belief is not true. The separation has already been healed.
- Act from the peace that remains, doing what is mine without the weight of being the one who must make it all come out right.
Applying this to my trip, I can gather all my perceived problems and:
- Recognize the real problem underneath them all—the belief that I have to figure everything out on my own.
- Ask the Powers That Be to help me see this differently.
- From a place of peace, do what is mine to do, knowing that my “problems” have been solved.
This is what led me to the idea of a mind map: a way to get all the facts out, see the bigger picture, apply the R-R-A approach, and then take the next divinely inspired step.
Today’s lesson can be summarized simply:
I am safe, whole, and guided.
The belief in separation has already been solved.
Or simpler still:
I am safe, whole, and guided.
* The Course defines “Him[God]” as an impersonal, formless, and infinite principle of pure Love. Substitute whatever term that resonates best and allows you to receive the message.
** Separation: Believing that I am a vulnerable individual going into an uncertain situation, and that my peace depends on my ability to control every detail.
“But in reality, my problems are nothing but perceptual distortions.”
