Lesson 090: REVIEW ”Let me recognize the problem so it can be solved. Let me recognize my problems have been solved.”
AI Reframe: The light returns when I stop insisting on struggle.
Suggested Exercise:
From the Review:
“The longer practice periods will follow this general form: Take about fifteen minutes for each of them, and begin by thinking about the ideas for the day, and the comments that are included in the assignments. ²Devote some three or four minutes to reading them over slowly, several times if you wish, and then close your eyes and listen.”
”Repeat the first phase of the exercise period if you find your mind wandering, but try to spend the major part of the time listening quietly but attentively. ²There is a message waiting for you. ³Be confident that you will receive it.⁴Remember that it belongs to you, and that you want it.”(ACIM, W-rII.in.2:1–3:4)
“Reaffirm your determination [to fulfill your function] in the shorter practice periods as well, using the original form of the idea for general applications, and more specific forms when needed.” (ACIM, W-rII.in.6:1)
For Lesson 79: Let me recognize the problem so it can be solved.
“²Let me realize today that the problem is always some form of grievance that I would cherish. ³Let me also understand that the solution is always a miracle with which I let the grievance be replaced. ⁴Today I would remember the simplicity of salvation by reinforcing the lesson that there is one problem and one solution. ⁵The problem is a grievance; the solution is a miracle. ⁶And I invite the solution to come to me through my forgiveness of the grievance, and my welcome of the miracle that takes its place.” (ACIM, W-90.1:2-6)
For Lesson 80: Let me recognize my problems have been solved.
“²I seem to have problems only because I am misusing time. ³I believe that the problem comes first, and time must elapse before it can be worked out. ⁴I do not see the problem and the answer as simultaneous in their occurrence. ⁵That is because I do not yet realize that God has placed the answer together with the problem, so that they cannot be separated by time.⁶The Holy Spirit will teach me this, if I will let Him. ⁷And I will understand it is impossible that I could have a problem which has not been solved already.” (ACIM, W-90.3:2-7)
* The Course defines “Him[God]” as an impersonal, formless, and infinite principle of pure Love. Substitute whatever term that resonates best and allows you to receive the message. God’s will for us is happiness.
** Miracles are what happen when we shift who we listen to—from the ego-mind to the Divine Mind. It’s the move from being a victim of the outer world to feeling empowered from within.
*** A grievance is anything that overshadows, blocks, or disconnects me from my true Self: love, peace, and joy. It’s the insane decision to hold onto the chains (the past) because we’re afraid that letting them go would mean disappearing into a light we don’t yet trust.

From all 20 reviews:
- I am the light of the world.
- My function is to light up the world with this light.
- I recognize and acknowledge the light in everyone.
- I act as the light I am—by being happy and doing what makes me happy, as Love would have me do.
- When fear or grievances diminish my light, I remember who I am: Love, which transforms all grievances.
- The ego-mind creates the grievances that hide my light; my True Self saves me from them.
- Knowing this, I choose between hiding my light or shining it.
- The peace, love, and joy we seek is already within us—just remove the ego’s veil.
- We remove the veil through a miracle: asking the Divine for a higher perspective, and embracing its reply.
- We only have one problem: the false belief that we are alone—we’re not. Problem solved.
When it comes to what we perceive as a problem, who’s defining it? Who are we listening to for the solution? Is it a reliable source?
The ego-mind sees each problem as different. Each has a different level of severity. Each requires a different solution. Each is based on a limited perspective and a grievance.
The Divine-mind sees no problems because all problems stem from the belief that we are separate—from each other and the Divine. Remembering our Divine connection and asking for help in seeing things from a higher, broader perspective is the solution—if we’re willing to embrace the answer.
My decades-long habit of doing things for and by myself is challenged by this lesson. Relying on my ego-mind usually involves unnecessary worry, struggle, and stress. Relying on the Divine-mind has shown me, time and again, that my “problems” always work out—usually in unexpected ways and always for the better.
So why would I heed the ego-mind’s voice? Out of habit? How’s that working for me? No, thank you.
I’ve been experimenting with declaring what I want as a way of asking the Divine for help. For instance, walking into the dentist office yesterday, I declared:
As I walk out to my car, I intend to be pleased with how my visit went.
Then I let it go. Anytime fear tried to arise during the appointment, I reminded myself: “No. We’re going to focus on our declaration.” One hour and ten minutes later, I walked out to my car with clean, problem-free teeth.
Which begs the question: why don’t I ask for Divine help more often? I know why—and this comes from my ego-mind—I’m afraid the help won’t come, or it won’t come the way I want it. Like that guy stuck in his house as flood waters rise.
I’m grateful for today’s review. It reminds me I’m not alone and I can always ask for help.
As we conclude this 10-day review of Lessons 60-80, I would summarize their message as:
I am the light.
I shine it by choosing to see as Love sees.
Thinking I’m separate is the only veil that blocks my light.
Asking the Divine for a higher perspective and embracing Its reply removes it.
Problem solved.
This is essentially the gist of the whole Course. Embrace this? We’re golden.
“And that’s why I get up every morning, make my intention for an extraordinarily epic day, and continuously count my blessings.”
