Message

”God’s Will for you is perfect happiness.”

Today’s lesson is simple but challenging. We may think: “How can I be happy when there’s so much misery in the world?” Right there, I question that question. What are we basing the misery on? What we see in the news? Yes, bad things happen, but news is a business. Misery draws a bigger crowd—more money—so they give you what you’re attracted to.

That’s where today’s lesson comes in. We’re invited to choose happiness. Of all the things we can feel today, choose that. It sounds delusional—like ignoring others’ suffering. But it actually means: choose happiness, and from that state you’ll know what to do about suffering. I suspect whatever that is will lead to their happiness as well as ours.

From the lesson:

“⁴This part is as essential to His plan as to your happiness. ⁵Your joy must be complete to let His plan be understood by those to whom He sends you. ⁶They will see their function in your shining face, and hear God calling to them in your happy laugh.” (ACIM, W-100.2:4-6)

“You are indeed essential to God’s plan. ²Just as your light increases every light that shines in Heaven, so your joy on earth calls to all minds to let their sorrows go, and take their place beside you in God’s plan. ³God’s messengers are joyous, and their joy heals sorrow and despair. ⁴They are the proof that God wills perfect happiness for all who will accept their Father’s gifts as theirs.” (ACIM, W-100.4:1-4)

Today’s idea reminds me of something I’ve been telling people for over a year who say: “I’m just one person. I can’t make a difference.” I tell them what my Spirit Guides said: “Do what you love and help other people by doing it.” For me, that’s creating mandalas and writing these posts.

We’re being asked to do our part in God’s plan of perfect happiness: do what makes you happy. By doing so, we give others permission to do the same. Imagine a world where everyone did their part to be happy. That would be something special.

It’s like a puzzle. Until the last piece is in place, it’s incomplete. One small piece makes a world of difference. Like that puzzle, your part—regardless of size—matters.

Be happy. It may not always be automatic, but with practice, it gets easier.
