187 – Orchids and Mums Danmala
Kathy Klein creates beautiful danmalas (the giving of flower circles) using a variety of flower blossoms. In this case, she used orchid petals and mum flowers.
The striking contrast between the deep maroons/purples of the orchids and the white mums makes this danmala really pop against the wood background. The dash of yellow warms it up.
153 – Night Queen Mandala
Al Mullen (BigCityAl) photographed this beautiful dahlia which goes by the name “Night Queen.” I love the deep rich color of this flower, with its rounded petals complemented nicely with the green foliage behind it.
145 – Glass Mosaic Mandala
Texas mosaic artist, David Chidgey, created this beautiful art glass mandala entitled “Dusky Sun” from hundreds of pieces of stained glass. All of his mandalas are gorgeous. The colors and patterns are mesmerizing. I bet they are even more delightful in person with the sun shining through them.

While checking through my facebook news feed, I spotted this photo of a passion flower taken by my Floridian friend, Jim Casper. The colors and complexity of the blossom immediately caught my attention.
