Even in space you can find mandalas! On dwarf planet, Ceres, NASA discovered these bright spots in the Occator Crater that has them quite intrigued. Truth be told, I think we’re all easily captivated by bright, shiny things…n’est-ce pas?

From the post about this image, NASA.gov states:

The bright spots are much brighter than the rest of Ceres’ surface, and tend to appear overexposed in most images. This view is a composite of two images of Occator: one using a short exposure that captures the detail in the bright spots, and one where the background surface is captured at normal exposure.

On the NASA/JPL youtube site, they posted this Bright Spots and a Pyramid-Shaped Mountain video. Awesome stuff…

On the JPL/NASA site, you can cast your vote as to what we think the bright spots are. I’m going to choose “Other?” I think it’s a giant disco ball in space covered with all kinds of space debris…now the debris is starting to fall away, slowly revealing its sparkly, shiny self. IMHO. 🙂

Happy Coloring!
