Russian-born, now German-based artist Stefan Pabst, created this amazingly realistic eye portrait that just seems to pop right off the page. In a recent article posted on the Daily Mail about Stefan, this particular piece literally caught my eye.
Using a variety of media, Stefan creates very realistic and optical illusion paintings that boggle the mind and the eye. If you have the chance, do take the time, to read the Daily Mail article, they also include quite an assortment of his stunning art.
On a daily basis with this blog site, I often point out all the mandala-like things that are all around us…we forget that our own eyes are also mandalas: the eye ball, the cornea, the iris, the pupil, etc. We’re told that our eyes are the windows to our soul…that without saying a word people can “see” us via the expressions in our eyes. Ever notice how people can be smiling with their lips and yet when you look into their eyes, they lack any joy?
And how about how we see out of them? Do we see with judgement, anger, resentment, or with compassion and joy? In other words do we see with our minds or with our hearts
Today’s MotD reminds us to check in with our hearts to see beyond what the mind thinks it sees.
Happy Coloring!
