solid brass, copper, and nickel silver
2″ Diameter
Corvallis jewelry and ornament makers, April and Chaum Spehar, of Northwest Goods, create beautiful handcrafted metalworks art pieces. This delightful tree ornament, entitled “Sun Ray”, uses just three basic symbols to beautifully and simply exemplify the spirit of Oregon in mandala form…which the sun demonstrates for us as well.
About their art they state:
Combinations of bronze, copper, nickel silver and sterling silver are used in our jewelry and ornaments. The metal is hand cut to create various shapes, sizes, and lengths and are brazed together using an oxyacetylene torch. Tool like pliers, hammers, mandrels and a drill are used to refine the individual pieces. We strive to continuously come up with new designs and to expand our abilities.
If you happen to be in the Corvallis area between now and December 28, you can see/buy their beautiful jewelry and ornaments in person at the annual Teal Co-op Gallery.
With this ornament, April and Chaum demonstrate for us the beauty of collaboration and teamwork.
