2016-023 – Men’s Ties Mandala

This week’s MotD theme: Lots of Colors

Per fiber artist Judy Ann Simpson’s post on her Pinterest site, she repurposed a whole lot of men’s ties to make this beautiful Christmas tree skirt for a dear friend. He had been collecting ties for years just for this purpose.

Look at all those COLORS!…from light to dark, muted to bold, ugly to pretty. If you only had a few of these ties it might look a bit off…yet when you put a whole big bunch of them together, collectively, it works fabulously!

I’ve seen people make women’s skirts and dresses out of ties, I guess it seems only natural to make them into a decorative skirt for a tree.

You can view more of her creations on her Pinterest Quilt and Fiber Art board.

Inspiration for Today

Judy’s skirt inspires us to embrace all colors…find the joy in playing with them all.

Happy Coloring!
