This week’s MotD theme: Round Critter Faces
China photographer, Keren Su, captured this adorable photo of what appears to be a very happy harp seal at Iles de la Madeleine in East Canada. Notice all the mandala-like shapes from its head, to the eyes, and ever the shape its mouth/snout makes; as well as the “dots” around his nose from where it’s whiskers branch out.
From his China Span site:
Being a native born Chinese, Keren is well known in China for his adventures, being the first person to ride a single speed bicycle all the way across China, the first person to motor bike completely around China and the first person to raft with a self-made innertube raft down the wild Tarim River, the world’s longest interior river. … In his many trips to the remote mountainous areas of China, Keren has been able to capture many never-before-seen pictures.
Inspiration for Today
Keren’s photo of this smiling seal prompts the question: who are we to judge or determine what makes other people happy? For some of us being in artic freezing temperatures would make us quite miserable. For others, like this delightful harp seal, it’s absolute perfection.
Happy Coloring!
If you would want your mandala or your idea for a mandala to be considered for the “Mandala of the Day”, read about how on the Participate page. It’s easy! Or recommend one you’ve seen via my Contact page.
