This week’s MotD theme: Ceilings
I present my coloring/painting of this week’s Mandala of the Week: Ceilings (from Sunday’s MotD post). Continuing with the idea presented via the MotW post, I decided to explore further this idea of “upper limits” as it relates to all areas in my life where I feel like I’m holding myself back.
Conveniently I could group these areas into 8 groups:
- Performance arts (singing, acting, improv)
- Mandala/Intuitive/Spirital Art
- Mandala Readings
- “The Mandala Lady” business
Overall I’d say that each of these are on fertile ground (green background) and each are represented with pleasing colors. And yet each of them is framed with a blackish/grey blob which seems to be containing their respective contents and at the same time preventing any of them to expand.
Seeing this completed mandala gives me a map or chart of where I am and gives me a starting point from which to advance. At first it looks like a pretty picture, however upon further review I see that I am more in the Zone of Comfort, keeping everything tightly contained, a seemingly safe.
Inspiration for Today
Once we recognize where we are applying upper limits, we can then take action to clear the way. From Gay Hendrick’s The Big Leap, he suggests to “make a commitment to live in our Zone of Genius, now and forever.” I also like to add “I allow myself to be in the Zone of Genius in all areas of my life.”
I’m happy to post my colorings however I would really love to share and showcase your colorings here as well. Feel free to send them to me. Or you can post them on my Mandala of the Day Facebook page.
If you would want your mandala or your idea for a mandala to be considered for the “Mandala of the Day”, read about how on the Participate page. It’s easy! Or recommend one you’ve seen via my Contact page.
