This week’s MotD theme: Golden Yellow
I present my coloring/painting of this week’s Mandala of the Week: Golden Yellow (from Sunday’s MotD post). Along with watercolors (sun), I also used acrylic gold and copper iridescent paints (bands, dots and swirly markings) for this mandala. To me this feels like the hot Sun with all of its swirling gases and powerful fiery energy, with one side of it removed revealing to us Her Inner Core. The ring of cooler colors inside feels more like the essence and spirit of the Sun.
Inspiration for Today
While this may seem to represent the sun in our solar system, the Golden Yellow Mandala really wants to represent our Inner Core, the center of our being-ness. Within us, swirling all around, thoughts and ideas do this energetic dance awaiting their opportunity to come to fruition, to come into form.
Within our Solar Plexus (3rd Chakra) resides Our Will, that part of us that moves us forward in any given direction we want to go, which can also include being still. Today’s mandala encourages us to connect with Our Will, our Solar Plexus. Physically we can do this by placing our hand over our stomach, above our belly button. How does it feel? Is it tight? Is it relaxed? Now breathe into it. Breathe out of it. On a metaphysical level, we can ask of It: “What message do you have for me today?” Then be still, listen.
Happy Coloring!
