This week’s MotD theme: Mineral Orbs
This beautiful golden calcite sphere comes from Sheila Satin of I Dig Crystals from their May 2015 blog post. While polished to a smooth finish, I love all the textures and shapes within the sphere; an interesting mineral to explore.
About this orb, Sheila states:
Natural Golden Calcite is polished into your sparkling new crystal healing ball. This is a translucent orange-yellow stone full of shiny planes, spots of rainbow reflections and iridescent surface sheen. The gorgeous stone shows half light and half dark colors reminiscent of the sunrise.
Calcite is a rock-forming mineral with a chemical formula of CaCO3. It is extremely common and found throughout the world in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. Some geologists consider it to be a “ubiquitous mineral” – one that is found everywhere.
Calcite is the principal constituent of limestone and marble. These rocks are extremely common and make up a significant portion of Earth’s crust. They serve as one of the largest carbon repositories on our planet.
The properties of calcite make it one of the most widely used minerals. It is used as a construction material, abrasive, agricultural soil treatment, construction aggregate, pigment, pharmaceutical and more. It has more uses than almost any other mineral.
From Healing Crystals For You about the metaphysical properties of selenite:
Calcite crystals have wonderful, quite powerful attributes, and they are very easy to use.
By simply holding one in your hand, you can create an amazing flow of energy through your body, as they are strong energy amplifiers.
Whatever color you choose, these stones are excellent assets to have present in your home, business or in your healing area, as they are well known to assist you to cleanse your environment.
They help to clear negative energy and bring an increase in the good vibrations present. There is a type or color of this crystal that will work at every chakra.
Inspiration for Today
Sheila’s calcite orb inspires us to do what we can to cleanse our environment; where we live, where we work and where we play. If we want clear thinking it serves us best to clear it of anything that negates our space, our process, and our progress.
