2016-296 – Whatsit Mandala

"Whatsit" Wood Bowl by Chris Fisher

This week’s MotD theme: Bowl Me Over

This stunning wood bowl was turned by UK woodturning, Chris Fisher, known on Instagram as WoodBug1 on which you can view more of his amazing “whatsits” and “thingies.”

I’ve been following him for a while now, enjoying the beautiful wood pieces he creates and posts. This one particularly caught my attention and certainly felt like a perfect fit for this week’s theme.

About this piece he posted:

Its another Whatsit, this not a thingy, thingies are slightly different, I don’t want you to be confused.

And about his woodturning he states:

I’m a turner who likes to play and see what happens. I keep an open mind and just go with the flow. Just having fun.

Inspiration for Today

In a continuation of yesterday’s inspiration, Chris’s “whatsit” bowl encourages us to play for the sake of play, going with what’s there, allowing it to unfold however it’s going unfold; totally surrendering in the flow of it.

Happy Coloring!
