This week’s MotD theme: Mandalas – Hand Drawn
Swiss mandala artist, Fabienne Tosi, created this beautiful red mandala atop a golden green background. Unfortunately I know little about this artist and this particular mandala. However, I do know it’s exquisitely done with an abstract background under a precisely-drawn vibrant mandala foreground.
About this week’s theme:
This week’s theme focuses on different mandalas and mandala artists posted in the facebook group: Mandalas – Hand Drawn. With so many wonderful pieces to choose from, it makes my job of picking ones to showcase it bit more challenging. I may have to do this theme again. – Maureen 🙂
Inspiration for Today
In Fabienne’s mandala, two opposing painting styles peacefully co-exist with each other: the abstract, randomness of the background and the precision of the neatly-drawn symmetrical mandala pattern.
Without the background, the mandala would lack any support, depth or dimension. Without the mandala, the painting would seem lost, incomplete and without purpose or direction.
Today’s mandala demonstrates another expression of yesterday’s yin yang drawing reminding us yet again how peace can be attained by bringing together the best that two opposing forces have to offer, united in one purpose.
Happy Coloring!
