This week’s MotD theme: Mandalas – Hand Drawn

I present my coloring/painting of this week’s Mandala of the Week: Mandalas – Hand Drawn (from Sunday’s MotD post). I painted today’s mandala intuitively, meaning as I looked at each section, I let it tell me what color wanted to go there. And being that it’s an exaggerated design, it felt like it wanted to be bold, bright, and 3-dimensional yet have a very delicate, lightly textured background to complement the design.

I used watercolors, iridescent watercolors, and a white gel pen.

Inspiration for Today

Today’s mandala reminds us that we can be joyfully unified with one objective while maintaining our individuality and diversity. What a concept!
