This Week’s Theme: Beads
What a fun and funky beaded bracelet made with hand sculpted polymer clay beads by Fox of One Urban Tribe. I love how she made her beads to look like they were terra cotta.
About herself she states:
I believe in weaving together the artistic influences of global cultures into an aesthetic that is both new and ancient. I create jewelry from found objects, industrial salvage, and a wide variety of unique natural materials.
About this bracelet:
This OOAK (one of a kind) rustic wrap bracelet has southwestern style charm, perfect for desert adventures and daily fashion alike. The beads are individually hand sculpted from polymer clay then hand painted and antiqued for a stunning, “well-traveled” effect in shades of terracotta and verdigris, giving them the look of ancient pottery. Between the polymer clay beads are coordinated hand-dyed wood beads that echo the rustic color scheme.
The beads are strung on hand-dyed, natural hemp, and super-strong linen book-binding thread (also, hand-dyed). A matching button and loop closure completes the strand. This bracelet wraps four times around your wrist for a chunky statement look.
