This week’s theme: Jewelry
I present my coloring/painting of this week’s Mandala of the Week: Jewelry (from Sunday’s MotD post).
Well this was fun. I love these colors. As I painted it I sensed that this mandala represented our conscious mind (the abstract doodle band – while cool to look at, everything is flat, separate, confined, and fractured) and our superconscious mind/Higher Self (the blending of it all into one smooth, cohesive, energized, interactive, flow-y, three dimensional space with direct access to the Center of all that Is and beyond).
Makes me wonder which level of consciousness serves me best. Hmmmmmmm 🙂
For this painting, I used M. Graham and Golden acrylics paint, and Golden iridescent paints on Canson’s mixed media paper, enhanced it with a micron #1 black marker and uni-ball signo white pens.
In the next day or two, I’ll be posting images of my progress through this painting on my ArtProgressions.com blog site.
Inspiration for Today
“I felt the most intense pleasure in piercing the stone in order to make an abstract form and space; quite a different sensation from that of doing it for the purpose of realism.” ~ Barbara Hepworth
Happy Coloring!
