This week’s theme: Nautilus
I present my coloring/painting of this week’s Mandala of the Week: Nautilus (from Sunday’s MotD post). This turned out totally different from what I expected. It has an other-worldly feel to it. Some of it feels deep underwater and others parts feel like something from beyond the universe. Regardless, it’s loaded with lot’s of energy and movement in a variety of forms. My third eye is buzzing like crazy just looking at it. I love when that happens. 🙂
Mostly I used Holbein acrylics on Canson’s mixed media paper, enhanced it with gel pens.
In the next day or two, I’ll be posting images of my progress through this painting on my ArtProgressions.com blog site.
Inspiration for Today
“Even though it is almost impossible to attribute with certainty any specific mathematical achievements either to Pythagoras himself or to his followers, there is no question that they have been responsible for a mingling of mathematics, philosophy of life, and religion unparalleled in history. In this respect it is perhaps interesting to note the historical coincidence that Pythagoras was a contemporary of Buddha and Confucius.” ~ Mario Livio
Happy Coloring!
